It's that time again. American Ninja Warrior #5 has started their open application process as of the first of February, providing a great opportunity for traceurs to take advantage of their obstacle-tackling training. American Ninja Warrior has always attracted traceurs to its courses since its inception in 2009, but none have yet to complete the full course. Don't feel bad though- no American of any background has completed the whole course! But who knows, perhaps this could be the year.
Last year Paul Darnell (P.D.), Flip Rodriguez, Drew Drechsel, and local Jersey tracuer Chris Wilczewski were among the performers of note. with Chris finishing in 2nd place at the end of stage 2. ( he fell on the slider drop). This year, New York's own local traceur Jeremy "Spyder" Gallant will be among the hopefuls vying for a spot, so be sure to wish him good luck!
To apply you need to complete a contestant application and submit a photo and video of yourself. The video must be 5 to 8 mins in length, and if selected you will get to compete at the regional rounds in April, followed by the national rounds in Vegas in June. Full details on the application process and the application form can be found here. Let us know if you're a local traceur planning on entering!
