How long have you been training parkour?
About 2 and a half years
What made you decide that this lifestyle was for you?
It just seemed to fit. Although i do enjoy other sports/activites. Parkour just felt very natural to me and i loved it, aswell as the atomosphere of jams and the people i've met during my time training.
how did you find out about parkour?
Up late one night, Jump Britain was shown on tv. I watched it and i was completely blown away, the next day my brother and i were on the internet looking for websites
what do you like most about it?
One thing would have to be the bond you make with people. Traceurs have to be one of the only people to let people they have never met stay with them in their house just so another traceur doesn't have to pay for a hotel. Also pushing the limits far beyond what you thought you were capable of.
What do you like least?
The politics of parkour, and the bullshit that goes on via internet forums. these two things really have the power to spilt a community.
What makes parkour different from a lot of whats already out there?
In parkour you only need yourself. A good pair of shoes is nice to have, but your body is all that is needed. Other things require equipment and often team mates and opponets. Parkour is something that can be done by yourself or in the company of good friends.
Whats your favorite exercise when it come to training for parkour?
Probably QM, even though i do hate it. I feel most accomplished after pushing myself to QM a certain distance
What technique do you find yourself using most often?
Depends on the day, and how i'm feeling. Aswell as what spot i'm training in that day. Lately i've been trying to work on some more technical stuff balance, control, etc.
What defines efficency, for you?
Efficency is not only the straightest path, but the path that is safest and and that let's you use the least amount of energy that's possible.
Where do you think parkour is headed in the future?
I can easily see competitions happening, perhaps more sponsorships. As well as communities getting very large.
Do you have a 5 year plan? If yes, what is it?
To keep training and pushing myself
What shoes have you worn in the past for training?
Mostly Asics, although i have tried New balance and nike. Lately i have been wearing two pairs from K-swiss, the Rosny and the Ariakes.
Which shoe is your favorite for training?
I really enjoy wearing the Ariake, I can't find much wrong with it(grip could be better on metal).
Any advice for beginners?
Train responsibly.
