First off, very well written. Second, I agree on that. I am thankfull that me and my team, we had no one to show us, we were teh first to start in our neighborhood adn we really did wat we felt and no once anyone pushed anyone to do anything. One of tha main reasons I am a practitcioner of parkour (well at least as much as I can practice it lately) is not as mcuh the physical as it is the emotional, teh psychological. Pushing your body (not stupidly like it was mentioned but with care) can really make one think, make one realise things that you would never even consider, especially in solo training. IN my opinion, PK is not about the craziest physical but the personal journey that you took to get there. Ill admit, i had a few lapses into doin some stuff i really should not have but at the very least I realised my mistakes and it was jsut teh journey that I took..it was my own journey. I dont want to make it look more philosophical than it is, but there is an element of enlightement that is involved if you really practice parkour...

THe obsticle that has to be overcome is not jsut the physical, material one, it is within yourself, it is yourself...

Hi,

Sorry it took me so long to find this thread, I just Googled around for posts about my article today in case people were asking questions... I wanted to answer them.

I'm glad you all appreciated the article and I'm really glad that most of you felt similarly before reading it and had their thoughts reassured that they weren't alone in their opinions.

Great post Rizz ( Razz ), you added something very useful by mentioning the importance of solo training. I highly recommend training alone sometimes, just get away from everyone and everything and just focus on YOU. I find I can concentrate on my mental development more when I'm on my own. Smile

Oasis, feel free to give me a big hug any time, Parkour needs more love. Laughing I'm glad you liked the article.

Thanks for posting this here taelor and helping to spread it around.

Have a good weekend all. I'll pop back in to these forums more regularly now I've found it. Smile

-Blane

many good things and ideas there blane Smile im actually agree with you on 100%
*Edit*
finally have time to finish article ...
as ive been in UFC and there were ppl who damaged them selfs in it , they tried to grom faster and they broke bones, dislocations, etc, same thing is everywhere.

as for myself ive been train not that much at all and as u said there some newcomers are better than ppl who been doing parkour for 4 years, but here it is i never did something huge that is not my level, like drops from 12ft, ive been done sports since i been born Smile, and i actually lets say did parkour till i was 15, but i didnt know that, cause me and my friends were playing on construction site, we climbed well basically did parkour, now some ppl said to me that im gifted, well im not sure about that but maybe its true , maybe i cannot see it from my side , but from person side im sure it sees much better.

but i liked to thank ppl who got me into parkour, BigNinjaPimp(Max) when he came to NY we trained for like 6 days straight for 8-9 hours a day and it was fun, then found out about Pyro Razz he introduced me to ppl. one day the Tribe Team came to NY i met Demon(Ryan), then all fun strated i practiced so much with him and he showed me different approach , now i fly Razz

Thank you guys!

Blane tnx for the article Smile but one thing is ppl not gonna listen, only those ppl will listen who really does parkour. Cheers

I know Im posting a reply to a VERY old topic. But having just read this whole thing, it inspired me greatly. I have often found myself feeling many of these things and this article can really give people a new outlook on parkour, or strengthen other people's pre-existing thoughts, so i encourage traceurs of all experience levels to read this article.... Rite now im gonna go work on my "grandad strength"...
